Upcoming Event: Swami Tattvavidananda's Visit on Dec 1, 2, 3 will consists of Meditation Retreat (combination of residential and non-residential) using the Yoga Darshana of Patanjali. There wll be three classes, meditation and satsang each day. First session will be from 7 to 11:30, a long break, and a second session from 5 to 8:30.

Upcoming Classes by Sri Vijay Kapoor (There are no charges for any of the classes).

A new 2010-11 course of classes will start on Saturday, Sept 11, and will last approx. one year. Classes are held once a week, on Saturdays in classrooms A-B at the Jain Bhawan in Milpitas. If you would like to attend, please let Sri Vijay Kapoor know (vijaykapoor108@yahoo.com) ahead of time, so that class sizes can be estimated.
8:00 TO 9:30 AM - Dakshinamurti Stotram
  • Aimed at students who have been attending classes for a while.
  • Students are expected to memorize the 10 verses.
  • Classes will frequently start with meditation.
  • Sanskrit commentaries Manasollasa by Sri Sureshwarcharya and Tattvasudha will be referred to.
  • Though not essential, some knowledge of Sanskrit will help.
    9:30 to 10:45 AM - Vishnu Sahasranama Stotram
  • Both beginning and experienced students will benefit
  • Will cover 10-verse (out of 108) segment at a time (Entire Stotram may take more than 1 year)
  • We will learn to accurately chant (and memorize) 10 verses in a segment.
  • Word meanings will be explained.
  • An attempt to understand Isvara based on the teachings of Pujya Swami Dayanandaji will be made.
    10:45 to 12:00 Noon - Introduction To Vedanta Based on the Bhagavad Gita
  • Aimed at beginning students. Students will learn:
    • Basics of Vedanta, or Self Knowledge
    • Bhagavad Gita, Structure, purpose, and how it relates to Vedanta
    • Meditation - both preparation for and actual guided meditation.
  • Will include 1 or 2 off-site (day) retreats.
  • Students, after completion, can join more advanced classes.
